時間を惜しまずに、素材の持つ優しさを形の上に表現できればと思っています。
うつろう四季の流れを大切に、使い手の日常にそっと寄り添えるような作品を作りたいです。


Beyond the countless moments, there lies something I wish to create.
In harmony with time and nature, I patiently render the tenderness of materials upon each form.
Cherishing the ever-changing flow of the seasons, I craft pieces that gently accompany everyday life.


略歴Timeline

本間 重隆
- 1971年
- 漆芸家 本間幸夫の長男として東京に生まれる。
- 1989年
- 父 幸夫に師事 髹漆と漆の精製を学ぶ。漆工芸荻房にて日本産漆による工房作品の制作に従事。
- 1992年
- 茨城県常陸大宮市にて幸夫と共に荻房の漆畑造成を始める。
- 1996年
- 新宿伊勢丹にて「本間幸夫と荻房展」に以降2014年まで毎年参加。その他、工房展出品多数。
- 2006年
- 漆芸家 赤地友敬氏に師事。「はりぬき」と「一閑張り」を学ぶ。
- 2007年
- 漆芸家 池田巖氏に師事。薫陶を受ける。
- 2014年
- 銀座三越 荻房漆展に出品 以降16.17年。
- 2019年
- 銀座三越アートギャラリーにて本間幸夫と二人展。
- 2020年
- 独立。
- 2021年
- 独自の漆畑を茨城県常陸大宮市に造成。
Shigetaka Homma
- 1971
- Born in Tokyo as the eldest son of lacquer artist Yukio Homma.
- 1989
- Began studying under his father, Yukio, learning “Kyushitsu” (lacquer application) and lacquer refining. Engaged in creating studio works using Japanese lacquer at Urushikogei Ogibo.
- 1992
- Started cultivating lacquer fields in Hitachiomiya, Ibaraki, together with his father.
- 1996
- Participated annually in the "Yukio Homma and Ogibo Exhibition" at Shinjuku Isetan until 2014. Exhibited in numerous other studio exhibitions.
- 2006
- Studied under lacquer artist Yuukei Akachi, learning “Harinuki” and “Ikkannbari” techniques.
- 2007
- Studied under lacquer artist Iwao Ikeda, receiving deep guidance and mentorship.
- 2014
- Exhibited at the Ogibo Lacquerware Exhibition at Ginza Mitsukoshi, and again in 2016 and 2017.
- 2019
- Held a two-person exhibition with Yukio Homma at Ginza Mitsukoshi Art Gallery.
- 2020
- Became independent.
- 2021
- Established his own lacquer field in Hitachiomiya, Ibaraki.
Artist Statement
For over 30 years, I have dedicated myself to Japanese lacquer, balancing tradition and innovation.
My journey began with my father, learning “Kyushitsu” (lacquer application) and natural lacquer refinement. Over time, I cultivated my own lacquer trees, deepening my connection to the material.
Through “Kigawa”, “Harinuki” and “Ikkannbari”, I create works that embrace natural irregularities and unique textures. My pieces embody the spirit of time, nature, and craftsmanship.
Lacquer is a living medium, evolving with time to reveal depth and luster. I continue to explore its clarity and richness, striving to express the essence of this timeless craft.
